Adam Fair
Engineer. Mixer. Co-FOUNDER.
In 2012 Adam co-founded Villa Sound with songwriter and producer Tim Thorney. Adam has worked with many different people including Juno and Grammy award nominated artists. Some of his clients include Valley, Shawnee Kish, Deep Jandu, Ollie Wride, The Guess Who, Sass Jordan, Eric Schenkman, Parallels, Max Webster, Kate Todd and many more.
In 2020, Shawnee Kish won the CBC searchlight competition for her song “Building a Wall”, which Adam recorded and mixed. He also worked on Valley’s album “Maybe” which garnered them multiple nominations at the 2020 Juno Awards.
In addition to music, Adam has worked on many television and commercial projects. Some of his clients include CBC, HBO, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, VH1, Chrysler, Helly Hansen, Moet & Chandon and more.
Tim Thorney
Songwriter. Producer. Co-FOUNDER (1955-2021)
Our friend and co-founder, Tim Thorney, passed away on June 15 2021. Tim has had an enormous impact on the Canadian music industry that will not be forgotten. We will carry on what Tim helped to lay the foundation for at Villa Sound. We love you, Tim.
Tim first came to prominence as a songwriter. In 1981, he co-wrote most of Lisa Dal Bello's Drastic Measures album. In 1983 and 1984, he was a singer, songwriter and keyboard player with The Front, a Canadian studio band that released two albums of pop rock.
In 1995, Tim and his younger brother Tom Thorney were taken on as partners in Great Big Music, which later became Tattoo Music. Through their studio work, the Thorney brothers won advertising awards for commercial campaigns in Canada and the U.S., including a Gemini and three Daytime Emmys. Tim has also produced jingles for high-end clients such as FedEx, Sympatico, 7up and the Ford Motor Company.
In addition to film and television, Tim has worked with many musical artists. Among these projects, producing Jimmy Rankin's 2001 album ‘Song Dog’, co-producing Rankin's 2003 album Handmade, producing Cassandra Vasik’s Juno award winning album ‘Feels Like Home’ and co-producing Alanis Morissette's 2004 album, ‘So-Called Chaos’.
In 2012, Tim co-founded Villa Sound recording studio with recording engineer Adam Fair. Since then, he has produced projects for Alex J Robinson, Andrea Ramolo, Sarah Smith, Dana McVicker, Shawnee, Kate Todd and more.

Matt O’Rourke
Producer. multi-instrumentalist. (Freelance)
Matt has over 15 years of experience and holds an Associate Degree in music from “Musicians Institute” college in Hollywood, California.
He has received many awards throughout the years, most recently winning Boots and Hearts “Emerging Artist of the Year” with Kris Barclay. He also produced the song "Building a Wall" by Shawnee, which won CBC's Searchlight 2020 competition.
Matt has performed and produced songs with many artists, including Shawnee, Kris Barclay, Jeff Orson, Lance Dobinson, Her Sage Advice and more.
